Reviews of Non-Alcoholic and Low-Alcohol Drinks from Nirvana

Nirvana Kosmic Stout / Dark and Rich Stout

"Dark roasted malts take centre stage in this rich and chocolatey stout. Bold enough to pack a punch, light enough to enjoy any time of year" - Nirvana

drinkNAB Review

An easy to drink stout

Pop open the cap and you are none the wise as to what you are gtting - the aroma is well hidden. It pours nicely with a rich velvety feel as it hits the glass. The aroma once in is subtle compared to many craft stouts, but the malty, cholcolatey tones are certainly there. Mouthfeel wise it's far to fizzy for my liking - I don't really want a stout tickling my tongue! Tastewise, it's consistent with the aroma. Overall, you could drink a lot of this very easily. It's nothing incredible, but slips down very nicely thank you very much.

Nirvana Dark & Rich Stout

drinkNAB Review

Not Kosmic

I reviewed this in its previous incarnation, Kosmic Stout and thought I'd give it another go, assuming my previous bottle was old. Hmm. Pour is fairly watery, but produces an excellent head - I really rate Nirvana's carbonation skill! A vanilla chocolate syruppy aroma, which may please some, didn't deliver the body I expected. Not one I'll be trying for a third time.

Nirvana Traditional Pale Ale

drinkNAB Review

Not for me

Like all Nirvana beers, the head is good  as if the mouthfeel. That's where my compliments cease for the Pale Ale though. Thin, watery, a little taste but other than quenching a thirst, it's not for me.

Nirvana Classic IPA

"This crowd-pleaser uses Amarillo hops, packing a punchy hit perfect for a hot summer’s day. Light amber body, citrus aromas, hoppy notes of pine & spice" - Nirvana

    Consume it

I think Nirvana's description is pretty accurate although I would have left out the 'punchy hit' bit. This is a decent hoppy, citrussy IPA that you could easily consume by the gallon. It's unsmderstated and so it's easy to get to the end of the bottle. An easy to drink, refreshing beer.
